Ancestral Goa

Goa Ancestral
Ancestral Goa is a miniature Goan Village located at Loutolim, 15 minutes distance from Margao in Salcete Taluka. This miniature Goan Village has existed from 100 years ago, positioned on nine acre verdant hillock at Loutolim, included as one of the tourist attractive spots in Goa. A large array of museums has festooned the spot, which remain open from 10:00 am till 7:00 pm, except on Sundays. Ancestral Goa has come with a number of rustic endorsement and child education workshops for enhancements of this virgin patch of Goa. Its warm ambiance is bound to draw tourists from all over the world.

A holiday to Ancestral Goa grasps the visitors to a different world; a world that’s artistic and legacy episodes are not crinkled by the lash of decades. Maendra J, Alvares, a well known Goan artist made the zenith of the dream and remarkable efforts to Ancestral Goa, a project to preserve the heritage of the land that contributes a lot in Goan tourism. After several months long meticulous research, planning and hard work by artist Alvares and his team this unique scheme achieved fruition in April 1995. Make a holiday trip to the miniature village replica at Ancestral Goa during August where you would be offered to take part in three-day art contest and display programme.

Goa has a unique special tradition of mingling of Indian and western culture together which mostly been observed in varied culture and architecture of its towns and villages. After four centuries Portuguese rule Goa is blessed with the glorious traditions and an essence of 'Natural Harmony'. One most appealing aspect of holiday at Ancestral Goa can be the tiny fenny (local Goan drink) distillery, 'Traverena', placed inside the premise. Skills of craft - clay modeling, pottery, basket weaving, and even lighter pursuits of puppetry and vegetable carving are several practices organized for the economically backward children at the Big Foot Dance Floor during the auspicious eve of X-mass.
