There are two major railway stations in Goa namely Margao and Vasco-da-Gama railway stations. Both the railway stations are located to the southern area of the state. The South Central terminus in Goa is at Vasco-da-Gama while the Konkon Railway terminus is at Margao. There are many other small railway stations in Goa where the trains usually halt for a few minutes. From the Vasco-da-Gama Railway Terminal travelers can find one train that connects Goa to Delhi. The Nizamuddin Goa Express which arrives in Goa at the early morning comes via Pune. The Konkan Railways provides the quickest route to Goa from Mumbai.

The travelers can utilize the special reservation facility in the Konkan railways through internet. The payment of the rail tickets can be made by credit card also. This offers a freedom to get railways tickets very easily in Goa as there are computerized reservation systems in most metros. Railway transportation in Goa has made the life very easy and really made many distant places easily accessible.
